D Bm D Bm Yes, I'm a travelin' man. Oh, I'm a travelin' man. D Bm | D A | D | Mmmmm. Mmmmmmmm. Q. Isn't it an A7? A. The 2nd Bm chord in the verse feels like it ought to be an A7 chord because of the A note that Nelson sings there. But listen to the bass line in the recording and you will hear that it is actually a Bm chord. If you need more proof, play along with the recording at the instrumental break and substitute an A7 chord for the 2nd Bm chord, and it'll be clear as a bell that the A7 chord doesn't really fit there. The 2nd Bm chord sets up the D-D7-G-Gm progression. Walkdown note: The eighth-note walkdown at the end of the chorus can be played with open chords or with barre chords, whichever you prefer: A (open) = x02220 A7 (open) = x02020 A7/F# (open) = x04020 A7 (open) = x02020 or A (barre) = 577655 A7 (barre) = 575655 F#m (barre) = 244222 A7 (open) = x02020
